How to Set Up IPTV on Android TV
On Android TV devices – such as TVs from Sony, Philips or TCL – we recommend TiviMate. You install the app from the Google Play Store as usual.
What you need
- Android TV television or box with Google Play Store
- Internet from 16 Mbps for HD, 50 Mbps for 4K
- Your login details from our WhatsApp message
- A Google account on the device
Step by step: how to set up IPTV on Android TV
- 1
Step 1
Install TiviMate
Open the Google Play Store on your TV, search for “TiviMate IPTV Player” and install the app.
- 2
Step 2
Add your playlist with Xtream Codes
Start TiviMate → “Add playlist” → “Xtream Codes”. Enter the server URL, username and password from our WhatsApp message.
- 3
Step 3
Load channels and TV guide
TiviMate now loads all channels, movies, series and the TV guide (EPG). The first time this can take a minute or two.
- 4
Step 4
Start watching
Pick a category or channel on the left. Long-press a channel to add it to your favourites so you find it faster.
Tip: under Settings → Playlists you can hide groups you don’t need – the channel list becomes much clearer.
Alternative: IBO Player Pro
IBO Player Pro also runs on Android TV. Install it via the Downloader app with code 923441 or as an APK from ibo.al. Instead of a login you send us the MAC address and device key – we add the playlist.
Fixing problems on Android TV
TiviMate isn’t in the Play Store
Check whether your TV really runs Android TV or Google TV. Some TVs (with Tizen, webOS or VIDAA) have no Play Store – use the guide for your device instead.
“Login failed”
Check the server URL, username and password for typos – they are case-sensitive. The server URL starts with http:// and usually contains a port such as :8080.
No TV guide visible
Open Settings → EPG and refresh the TV guide manually. For most channels the programme appears within a few minutes.
